Spring

Birds sing endlessly and crickets chirp merrily as I walk into a spring wonderland. A place seemingly devoid of life in the winter has now bloomed into life. I can hardly believe its still my local park, the Halswell Quarry. A White - Faced Heron flies down to the ground a few meters away from me, its dangling legs aching to touch solid ground. He (At least I’m pretty sure its a he) kindly lets me crawl closer and closer. To earn a birds trust is a beautiful thing indeed.

Even the small lake has something to offer in the form of shovelers, teals, and scaups.  Although a proud looking male shoveler captures my attention the most.

Then (In my opinion) the best part of spring came: the baby birds. I was privileged to see 3.

What more could I need.
